THE GOOD-TO-KNOW STUFF
Questions? I've Got Answers.
Starting therapy can come with a lot of questions. Here are a few answers to help make the process a little less overwhelming.
GETTING STARTED
The Basics.
-
Simply reach out through email! We'll find a time for a free 10-minute consultation where you can ask questions, tell me a little about what you're looking for, and see if we're a good fit. If we decide to move forward, we'll coordinate your first appointment and I'll send you the necessary paperwork.
-
Yes! I offer a free 10-minute consultation so we can connect before scheduling your first session. There's no pressure to commit.
-
Yes! Salty Sessions only offers virtual therapy to clients located throughout Florida. All you need is a private space and a reliable internet connection.
-
Individual therapy sessions are typically 50 minutes long. How often we meet will depend on your needs, goals, and availability.
-
My standard individual therapy rate is $130 per 50-minute session. A limited number of reduced-fee appointments may be available. We'll discuss fees before your first appointment.
-
Salty Sessions is a private-pay practice and does not directly bill insurance. If you're interested in possible out-of-network reimbursement, check with your insurance provider about your benefits and whether services provided by a registered intern qualify.
ABOUT THERAPY
The Therapy Stuff.
-
That's completely okay! You don't need to arrive with a perfectly organized list of things to discuss. Some sessions may involve working through something specific, while others might focus on understanding patterns, learning new skills, or figuring out what you need.
-
Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) is an evidence-based treatment for OCD. It helps you gradually face feared situations or uncertainty while practicing different responses to compulsions. We can discuss your symptoms, goals, and whether ERP-informed work or a referral for specialized treatment makes sense for you.
-
Therapy is confidential, with certain legal and ethical exceptions, such as situations involving safety concerns or mandatory reporting. We'll review confidentiality and its limits during the intake process.
-
Life happens! I ask for at least 24 hours' notice when canceling or rescheduling an appointment. Late cancellations and missed sessions may be subject to the full session fee, as outlined in the practice policies.
